Big screw-up at the IRS, the agency we love to hate. What's going on, why it'simportant and why eternal vigilance is absolutely necessary.

Author's program note. Let's be clear about something right from the start: the current scandal at the Internal Revenue Service is by no means the worst the agency has endured... yet at any rate. The IRS has a scrapbook full of more abashing moments and grim memories of things they shouldn't have done... and got caught red-handed doing.

Item: In the1930s President Franklin Roosevelt used the IRS against a grab bag of political opponents, including mega-publisher William Randolph Hearst (think "Citizen Kane"), Louisiana Governor Huey Long, and controversial radio priest Charles Coughlin.

Item: In the 1940s and 1950s corruption and bribery were rife. Hundreds of (not so) shame-faced employees were dismissed, while President Harry Truman ordered a major reorganization. Employees were put under civil service guidelines to curb political influence.

Item: During the administration of President John Kennedy, the IRS created an "Ideological Organizations Audit Project" that investigated conservative groups and challenged their tax-exempt status. The (apple-polishing) IRS started the project after Kennedy complained during a news conference about right-wing groups getting tax-exempt status. Targets included the American Enterprise Institute and Christian Anti-Communist Crusade.

Item: In the 1960s and 70s the Nixon administration created an IRS unit called the Special Services Staff, or SSS to target activists and political dissidents. The White House drafted the notorious "enemies list" of political opponents to be targeted for IRS audits. Here, however, common sense (the most limited of commodities in the capital) intervened in the person of Treasury Secretary Donald Alexander who said he wouldn't audit Nixon's political enemies and ordered the SSS dissolved.

Then there's the current scandal which apparently started in the IRS' Cincinnati regional office. There someone had the bright idea of making it difficult, if not impossible, for conservative groups to get tax-exempt status. It could easily be done with computerized key-word searches, including overtly ideological searches for applicants seeking to "make America a better place to live" or "criticize how the country is being run". Other key search words and phrases included "Tea Party" and "Patriots" .

Once started the culprits (who of course regarded themselves as the real patriots, the true-blue Americans) focused on groups "involved in limiting/expanding Government" and "educating on the Constitution and Bill of Rights."

So, let's review what was going on...

Some hot shot (as yet unidentified, although in due course that'll come out in the wash) decided conservative Americans were anathema and needed to be reined in. That person recruited his best IRS buddies (the ones believing conservatives to be menaces needing curtailment and chastisement for their wrong-headed views). And they merrily started using their access to sensitive information to thwart the entirely legal activities of people who were entirely within their constitutional rights, a sobering fact which seems to have had no influence upon the nimble perpetrators who used their jobs to sabotage.

Cui bono?

To whose benefit were these shenanigans? The report by the Treasury inspector general for tax administration (released May 14, 2013) offered new, highly suggestive details.

Of the 296 applications for tax-exempt status reviewed by the inspector general, 108 were approved, 28 were withdrawn by the applicants (some perhaps because of excessive IRS requests for sensitive organizational details), and 160 were still open, some pending for up to 1,138 days. This necessitates a look at the dates and a worrying scenario.

A "sensitive case report" on Tea Party targeting was sent from Cincinnati to Lois Lerner, the head of the IRS' division for tax-exempt organizations, and to another Washington official (as yet unnamed) on April 19, 2010. This suggests the illegal activities began far earlier than otherwise known, perhaps as early as mid-2009.

Now, add 1,138 days to, say, July 4, 2009 and you might easily draw the conclusion that certain person or persons involved meant to hurt the conservatives (while helping their competitors) until well past the 2012 presidential election, thereby materially assisting in the re-election of the prime beneficiary, The Honorable Barrack Obama.

What would, of course, strengthen this case would be knowing which organizations were so thwarted... and whether theirs was a conservative slant. That, too, should come out in the wash. It's sure to be a busy laundramat. Representative Dave Camp will see to that.

Criminal or merely inept, incompetent and "obnoxious"?

I'm guessing that Camp is going around his office whistling a happy tune. If so, it's no wonder. In matters such as this, there are always (sometimes hidden) winners and losers. The president and a whole lot of senior IRS officials are taking it on the chin right now as they posture at their "grin-and- bear it" best. They are clear losers. Dave Camp, by contrast, must be in hog heaven.

Camp, you see, is chairman of one of the oldest and most powerful committees of the House of Representative, Ways and Means. An 11-term veteran, a handsome, toothy Michigander from Midland, his sprawling district meanders across fifteen counties of mid- and northern Michigan, the very heart of the Great Republic. Camp is a popular figure back home, customarily winning in excess of 60 percent of the vote.

For good behavior and exemplary party loyalty, Camp was able to move up, join the GOP House leadership team and as Ways and Means chair deal with the crucial bread-and-butter issues that are so important to average Americans, tax policy, tariff and trade laws, Medicare, Social Security, welfare and unemployment programs.

Camp is the guy who'll be presiding over House hearings on this matter... His task is plain: to grill every senior IRS official, then even more senior people in the Treasury Department.

Heads have, of course, already begun to fall on this matter, Camp will ensure there are others. President Obama moved fast to get rid of Steven Miller, acting IRS commissioner and a lesser administrator.

It is only the beginning.

The President's objective is to get through this mess as quickly as possible. He wants us to believe the action was of short duration involving minimum people and that he can clear it all up, including apologizing to irate conservatives who are wailing here, there and everywhere, "See, we told you so."

Chairman Camp hopes he won't have to buy ex-commissioner Miller's proposition that it all happened because the IRS was overwhelmed by new applications after the Supreme Court ruled in the 2010 Citizens United case which greatly expanded the ability of corporations, unions and other organizations to participate in election spending. Miller wants America to believe the IRS is a good guy, dim, muddled but well meaning, and that "Dude, it won't happen again.

Of course Camp wants the opposite of all this; every subpoena he authorizes, every criminal charge made is a thrill for this man who probably went home May 17, 2013 (the first day of hearings) to find his wife and three kids holding crudely made "Camp for President" posters.

There is, however, one more secret loser in the proceedings... and that's Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, Mitt Romney's 2012 vice presidential selection. He, too, is on Ways and Means. He's got the presidential bug and cannot afford to let Camp outmaneuver him. He'll be working hard to ensure he doesn't. Camp should check for trip wires and banana peels artfully positioned for maximum effect...

Meanwhile, GOP stalwarts of every kind are sending out unbelievable numbers of email, direct mail, and automated phone messages, every one alerting the good people of America, the conservative, God-fearing people to send in a few bucks... and so the stupid idea of a cell of left-leaning knuckleheads in Cincinnati is turned into the mother's milk of politics, cash. Thus is one man's scandal turned into another man's success and this rapt commentator kept happily at his work.

Of all our recent presidents probably the first president George Bush '41 understood nonprofit organizations best... for he genuinely believes in their necessary mission of improving the Great Republic. Thus it was no surprise to hear his encomium on these absolutely essential organizations of every kind.

It was written by crack speech writer Peggy Noonan and delivered in his acceptance speech for the 1988 Republican presidential nomination. It came to be called the "Thousand points of light" speech:

"I have spoken of a thousand points of light, of all the community organizations that are spread like stars throughout the Nation, doing good."

For Bush this wasn't just rhetoric. It was a core of his belief and he showed as much in 1990 when he spearheaded the creation of the Points of Light Foundation, the goal of which was to promote private, non-governmental, tax-exempt solutions to social issues.

Thus, for the music to accompany this article I have selected "Point of Light,"a tune written by Don Schlitz and Thom Schuyler. It was recorded by Randy Travis and is available in any search engine.

It isn't a very good song; it doesn't tug at your heart, though it should. Even so, it's worth listening to: "All it takes is a point of light/A ray of hope in the darkest night/If you see what's wrong and you try to make it right/You will be a point of light." But, remember, if your application goes to the IRS in Cincinnati, you might have to wait a while...

Times are tough and when a county is

$1.1 Trillion Dollars in debt then, you

must consider all options that will reduce

spending and balance the budget.  Since,

people are the only creatures on Earth

that have money; yet, Economic

sustainability is based upon

S-P-E-N-D-I-N-G then, finding a solution

or partial solution is of the utmost importance

because it’s about balance. 

Hence, I offer a simple answer that has

long-term benefits for the Fiscal Health

of ALL countries in similar financial crisis.

Ironically, the effectiveness of the answer

is why it will NOT be implemented and

actively opposed by Special Interest Groups

that profit from the specific problem, while

society incurs not only incredible debt but

also, legal, emotional, marital and familial

degeneration throughout society due to the

personal GREED of Economic Mercenaries

(yeah, it’s a run on sentence but, I am good).

Now, the problem that I am talking about is

called Pregnancy or more specially, Accidental

Pregnancy (agreed, a bloody joke but, anyway).

Indeed, we’ve all heard the common excuses,

why she became pregnant as indicated by the

following:

• The doctor said, “I cannot have any kids”
• Oops, I forgot my pill
• The condom must have had a hole
• I guess the pull-out method doesn’t work
• It’s God’s will

Now, women have 12 forms of birth control; yet,

unintended pregnancies continue to be rampant

in the Era of The Single Mother.  It is evident, that

contraception has been primarily the Responsibility

of the female, while the male had only three forms

of contraception Condom, Vasectomy and Abstinence.

Well, what about making things more even-handed

with Men being responsible for their contraception

and females responsible for theirs contraception.

Seems, that is the essence of E-Q-U-A-L-I-T-Y.

Now, one group in the opposition (Feminists)

will scream the battle hymn, “women can’t rely on

men to be responsible and take the Male Birth

Control Pill”.  Funny, how men have relied on

Women to take the “Female Birth Control Pill”

but, no Hue and Cry about irresponsibility by

Feminists.  Yes, my answer to cutting the deficit

is the implementation of the Male Birth Control Pill.

The benefits of a Male Birth Control Pill for society

are obvious as indicated by the following:

• Fewer accidental pregnancies
• Elimination/reduction of Paternity Fraud Cases
• Fewer billable hours for attorneys
• Fewer Family Court cases
• Less need for Child-Support Enforcement
• Men controlling their reproductive rights
• Significantly reduced social welfare spending
• Better family planning options
• Increased communication between genders
• Successful men are not extorted to become fathers
• Significant reduction in “shotgun marriages”
• Significant reduction in condom sabotage by Females
• Reduction of Habanero Sauce in discarded condoms
• Reduction of govt. bureaucracy for Child Welfare
• Less distrust in Govt (lol!!!!)
• Less crowding in schools/class reduction size
• Less social pressure to have a family
• Catching an unfaithful wife/paramour
• Significant reduction in Police/Legal/Welfare costs
• Reduction in Abortions
• Reduction in Medical costs
• Fewer Female Economic Mercenaries
• Significant reduction of Single Mothers

Needless to say, significant savings are easily

achieved by society providing MEN the means

to control their own Reproductive Rights and

by logical extension reducing unnecessary social

expenditures related to having children.

It is apparent when seeking a solution to

a problem with enough effort the problem

can be solved; however, what if, there are

elements that Profit from The Problem?

Indeed, there are Special Interest Groups

(Feminists/Womens Groups, Attorneys,

Politicians, Corporate America &

Family Court Judges) that oppose Men

having access to a Pill that gives

CONTROL of reproducing their own

children…what a revolutionary idea.

In truth, opposition to the Male Pill comes

down to Money and Power; which is the

most potent aphrodisiac on Earth and the

aforementioned Special Interest Groups

will sacrifice society for their own personal

gain because it’s about Self-Preservation and

not “The Best Interest of Children”.

Well, I have made my contribution to society

and hopefully, some rational action will be

taken to give MEN the POWER to determine

fatherhood, while reducing unnecessary

social welfare spending.

Oh yes, since Government is composed of

Attorneys I must issue the following warning:

“You’re not the father”, the immortal words
of the King of Baby Mama Drama himself,
Maury Povich. Needless to say, he and the
parent company (Kingworld) who own the
rights to the Maury Povich Show continue
to generate significant ratings and collateral
revenue because the SHOW deals repetitively
with an old TABOO that is timeless between
MEN and WOMEN known as Infidelity.


Yes, INFIDELITY, that old virus that Infects
marriages globally and generates divorce rates
of 50% within the United States of America
and among other Industrialized Nations. Now,
the old scenario of the MAN being as faithful
as his options is well documented and manifested
in movies, news reports, TV sitcoms, personal ads,
blogs and every other form of MEDIA known to
MAN. Yes, females have often-times been depicted
as the VICTIM of an unfaithful philandering partner,
who failed to adhere to his marriage vows (“till death
do us part”…. clearly he couldn’t wait). Oh yes,
he also, failed to adhere to the 11th Commandment,
“Thou, shall not get caught. But, oh, how times have
changed.

Infidelity is no longer the exclusive domain of
MEN. Not on your life because WOMEN have
demanded equality and have exercised that right
as indicated by achieving remarkable statistics
generated through surveys and other research tools
that NOW reveals FEMALE infidelity near equals
that of men. In fact, many researchers believe that
women are more promiscuous than men because
society still retains the stereotypical image of the
women being nurturing and caring for the family.
Yes, JUNE CLEAVER is still hardwired (forgive
the pun) in much of society’s PSYCHE (no wonder
the little ladies can get away with being good in the
KITCHEN and a whore in the Bedroom……. Just
not with their husband/partner).


Clearly, fidelity is being practiced less and less among
married and unmarried couples today for various reasons.
However, an important issue emerged during the 1990s
and continues to have significant legal and societal
ramifications, which legislators still FAIL to effectively
address and resolve through law.


Can you guess what I am now referring to………..YES,
Paternity Fraud (No, this has never happened to me).
Paternity Fraud refers to a paternal discrepancy or a
non-paternity event, in which a mother names a man
to be the biological father of a child, particularly for
self-interest, when she knows or suspects that he is not
the biological father.[1

In many jurisdictions, there is limited opportunity to legally
challenge the assumption of paternity. For example, by
forbidding men to challenge paternity, especially in the
context of marriage, by limiting the amount of time
allowed to challenge paternity, or by allowing women to
make a claim of paternity without adequate chance for
rebuttal by the alleged father. In some jurisdictions, the
husband of the mother of a child is held to be the father,
regardless of biological relationship.

Obviously, you’re asking the question, “why does the law
limit a man’s ability to challenge Paternity…... the answer
Is very simple MONEY. Yeah, simple Dollars and Cents.
These females (single mothers) frequently, seek financial
support from governmental bodies in the form of welfare
benefits. Well, local government wants to recoup their
loss, when they payout benefits to these women and their
children. So, who is the father and where does he live?
Well, if the motheris uncertain who sired her child then,
the man with the Deepest Pockets or Whereabouts
Unknown frequently, becomes named DADDY.
Additionally, Daddy by Default Laws (legally named
the father of a child, who is not biologically related),
help foster the current problem of Paternity Fruad.

So, a SOLUTION to the problem of Paternity Fraud,
would be mandatory DNA testing for every live birth.
Makes sense right, but hold on…. there are those who
oppose DNA testing, but why and what’s their motivation?
Well, let’s identify the Special Interest Groups:

· Now (National Women’s Organization)
· Attorneys
· Child Support Enforcement
· State/Local Governments/Social Services

National Organization of Women the feminist
Organization played a significant role in the
Creation of No Fault Divorce in 1970. Now,
why would NOW oppose paternity fraud
legislation that biologically links a new born
with its father? Well, research has revealed that
various Blood Banks organizations have determined
statistically 25% - 30% of men named as a father in
fact, are not the biological father of their children.
Needless to say, the aforementioned statistics don’t
Enhance the credibility of an organization that demands
Equality for Women.

Attorneys, clearly have an incentive to oppose a
SOLUTION to paternity fraud, because no legal
intervention or very minimal is required when
science matches Papa and Junior biologically.
Oh yes, Mama will not profit from her infidelity.

Child Support Enforcement, is out of
Business when the right man is identified
as the biological father of a child.

State/Local Government/Social Services Agencies
receive matching funds from the federal government
when they can assign a father who owes child support
regardless if, he is biologically related to the child.
Now, DNA testing would clearly, reduce this Cash Cow.


It is truly ironic how DNA evidence can save a man’s
life On Death Row; yet, the same scientific evidence
is considered irrelevant after 1 or 2-years
(Expiration date to challenge Paternity). The courts
supposedly focus on “Determining the best interest of
the child”; however, the current legal system has failed
to achieve that goal……. Just ask the non-biological
male, who continues to pay child support for a child
that isn’t his.

Face it, when was the last time you actually wrote a list of all your ongoing expenses, then scrutinized each and every one to see where economies and improvements could be made?

BINGO!

Admit it, you've gone for months, maybe even years without systematically reviewing what you spend and how to improve your situation. But let's be frank: asset development starts with a clear and unblinking view of your current financial position. You MUST know what you spend and where cuts can be made.

3) Cut up your credit cards

Money is a commodity. And like all commodities it has a cost. Chances are the most expensive money you're buying is the interest charges on your credit card, 18% being commonplace. This is madness!

If you're using multiple credit cards and thereby incurring multiple credit card bills, your first task is to get rid of all cards but one.

Stop using these extra cards TODAY; then taking the savings you made from the review of your expenses, take what you saved and apply it to paying off the balance of at least one card. Continue to do this monthly until ALL credit card balances are a thing of the past.

4) Save daily

When you're just beginning to create assets, the development of good saving habits is crucial. Decide just how much you can save each month. Make the amount challenging, but not overwhelming. The amount should be reachable, not daunting.

Say you've selected $300 as your target monthly savings goal. Then put aside $10 daily. Open a passbook savings account at your bank; deposit $75 weekly. Doing this just once a month is NOT recommended; it's too easy to "forget" or skip, rationalizing that you can make it up tomorrow. Unfortunately, "tomorrow" never comes!

5) Empty your pockets, save it all

One very easy way to save is to empty the contents of you pocket or purse every few days... and put the money away.

If you're like most people, each year hundreds of dollars end up in purse or pocket. Treat these not as "change" but as the raw material for a successful saving plan.

6) Involve your family

One of the major reasons why most people fail to achieve their asset objectives is because they don't have support.

Right from the get-go, involve your family. Call a family meeting. Explain that in order to develop assets, you intend to review the family budget, including all expenses and all purchases from every family member, starting now; that you'll be looking for ways to save. And that to make this work, you will ask for and indeed require the support of EVERY family member. NO purchase is to be made by anyone until it is considered, reviewed and approved.

Believe me, it may take some "tough love" to get the full approval and working support of all, but it's worth it!

7) Get a financial advisor ASAP

Rich people, people with assets, have a financial advisor and you need one, too.

Even when you're emptying your pockets for spare change, you should be planning for the day when you need and have multiple advisors. Towards that end, start by doing the following:

i) ask your family and friends who provides them with professional investment advice

ii) ask your banker what options she has for you

iii) do an online search for "no load mutual funds". Giants like Vanguard, Fidelity, etc. provide solid advice and no-fee mutual funds. Talk to the representatives of at least two such funds.

No matter how poor your financial habits have been, no matter how self-destructive, you can turn things around. But you must start TODAY. The thousand mile journey starts with a single step. Get a pair of scissors, cut up your credit cards, empty your pockets, create a budget and review your expenses. It's all good... and all represents progress. Right now you're working for money, but by following these steps money will start working for you. You'll see!
